How to register multiple compositions
Register multiple compositions with Manual Entry or CSV Import, or reuse the same writers and publishing relationships with Set Up as a Batch.

Getting to Bulk Registration
Open Bulk Register from My Catalog for composition manual entry or composition CSV workflows. To add one standalone recording, use Add one recording from Recordings / Master Rights; it opens the existing Add Sound Recording form, where you can optionally link the recording to a composition.
Batch rule
When you choose Set Up as a Batch, every song in that batch must use the same writer roster and the same publishing relationship for each writer. Writer and publisher percentages can be different from song to song.
- Use the same writers on every song in the batch.
- Keep each writer's publishing relationship the same throughout the batch: for example, Self-published, Unpublished, or the same named publisher.
- Change writer shares and publisher shares for each song when the rights split differs.
- Each song still becomes its own individual Music Rights Passport, while the shared setup saves a lot of repetitive entry.
Choose the right workflow
Use the option that matches the information you have:
- Set Up as a Batch — best when multiple songs have the same writers and publishing relationships; percentages may differ
- Bulk Registration / Manual Entry — best when entering multiple compositions that may have different information
- CSV Import — best when importing a larger number of compositions from a spreadsheet
Bulk Registration entry methods
You can add compositions to the bulk workspace in two ways:
- Manual entry — add each composition using an on-screen form
- CSV import — prepare a spreadsheet, export it as a CSV file, and import it
Manual entry
The manual entry form lets you type in composition titles, writer information, and publishing details one composition at a time. Each work appears as a review card. Nothing is added to My Catalog until you choose Register compositions.
Writers per composition
Each composition in Bulk Registration can have up to seven writers. You must include at least one writer (yourself). For compositions you co-wrote, add the other writers with their email addresses so MRP can send them confirmation invitations after submission.
What each composition needs
Each composition in the bulk workspace requires:
- Title
- At least one writer with a name and share percentage
- A publishing disposition for every writer (self-published, has a publisher, or unpublished)
- Publisher name and IPI if any writer has a publisher
- Writer shares that total 100%
Submitting the batch
Review the cards for errors, information prompts, duplicate warnings, and batch consistency issues. Before invitations are sent, MRP checks that every song uses the same writers and publishing relationships. If the writers or publishing relationships differ, create a separate batch. Correct anything that blocks submission, then choose Register compositions. MRP creates the selected works in My Catalog. For collaborative rows, choose when to send all invitations rather than assuming an unfinished batch has already contacted contributors.
What happens after submission
Each created composition appears in My Catalog with its own Passport. Open it to complete Guided Song Setup, manage confirmations, resolve registration readiness, and lock it when eligible. Add recordings through Guided Song Setup → Recording Information or from Recordings / Master Rights; recordings can then be linked to a composition.
Duplicate checks
MRP checks for compositions that appear to already be in your catalogue before submission. If a match is found, a warning banner appears on that composition card. You can choose to skip the duplicate or import it anyway if the titles happen to match but the compositions are genuinely different works.
